Time for a rugged challenge

LOOKING for a challenge? The Rugged Race might just be for you. The new obstacle course event with more than 40 obstacles ranging from monkey bars, water obstacles, climbing obstacles, mud and giant slide will be held later this month.

It is the first major obstacle course event in Tasmania since 2019. Organisers are on the search for Tasmania’s fittest male and female with prize money on offer in each category. “Laid out around the lush farmland of Redbanks, The Rugged Race will take you through seven kilometres of 40-plus diverse obstacles catered for all abilities,’’ organisers said.

“From rope climbs, balance beams, a frame walls and muddy army crawls, there will be something to challenge everyone. “If you want to test your limits in the elite wave, or just have some good old-fashioned fun with mates, we have something to suit you all.’’ There is also a junior’s category for 8-12 year olds.

The first wave – The Male and Female Elite category – kicks off at 830am. From then on, every 15 minutes waves will kick off. The junior wave will start at noon.

The event will be held at Redbanks, Nugent, on Saturday, November 26. Half the tickets have already been sold.
