FOKI’s hip-hop happening

TASMANIAN (lutruwita) hip-hop, electronic, and dance music duo Sumner are another great addition to our Festival of King Island lineup for 2023.

Sumner got their first significant break after supporting PNAU at a 5,000 people-strong music festival, a massive achievement for such a small, isolated town with a population of just over 700. Not long after, they became one of Triple J’s Unearthed Feature Artists of 2018 with their track Put It Out.

Sadly, not long after this, one of the duo, Chloe, was diagnosed with epilepsy. This did not deter them and they pushed through and now have made their show an epilepsy-friendly event – one of the only electronic dance music shows like it.

Their first time at our festival is sure to be a great success, with their alternative R&B sound a welcomed addition.

FOKI will not be the first festival they have performed at. Sumner has previously performed at festivals including Party in the Paddock, Falls Festival and the Festival of Voices.
