IN a jam-packed King Island weekend of sport, another winner was Edith Rapana who won the King Island Golf and Bowling Club’s Handicapped Singles Bowling Championship. Edith played Michael Waythe and the score was 25 to 20.
It’s time to make sure you have entered the inaugural King Island Dairy Open Bowls Tournament (Pairs event) being held April 7-9 at the KIGBC.
Entry is via the website www. bowlskingisland.com. $1500 prize money per pair is on offer and entries close March 31, 2023.
The draw is limited to 32 pairs and entry fee is $50 per pair. If the number of entries exceed the limit the priority will go to those who enter early.
The event aims to provide visitors the opportunity to come
to the island to join locals in a weekend of competitive bowls. The event will be played according to Bowls Australia’s Laws of the Sport of Bowls. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third places pairs. First prize is $1500 to be shared between each pair player in the winning team.
The weekend begins on Friday afternoon with a social bowls competition followed by a barbecue.
The main pairs event starts 10am Saturday and Sunday with presentations at 4pm and the winning duo being crowned the King Island Open Pairs Champions.
